The Revolution Youth Coalition has released a statement in which they propose a four-step initiative titled “Egypt for all Egyptians.” The initiative is intended to deal with the causes and effects of Imbaba’s violence which left 12 dead and more than two hundred injured.

The first step the coalition proposes is to organise and call for a national unity demonstration on Tuesday at 4pm outside the Maspiro television building, where thousands of Copts have been gathering for three days now to condemn the attacks targeting the Mar Mina and Virgin Mary churches in Imbaba.

The coalition also sets out paying visits to the family of the martyrs and the injured in Imbaba from 7pm.

A conference in Imbaba should also be organised, they state, and attended by moderate Muslim and Christian figures as well as by Prime Minister Essam Sharaf to commemorate the martyrs. A date and place of such an event will be decided upon after coordination with Imbaba youth groups.

Finally, the coalition said it will release a document titled “Tahrir Document” that will deal with the roots of sectarian tensions in Egypt.
