Five people were killed in a road crash in the Nile Delta on Thursday as road accidents continue to claim lives frequently nationwide.
The five victims were members of one family, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported, and died when the microbus they were in turned over near Abo El-Adawi village in Damietta governorate.
Police and ambulances arrived at the scene and victims were transferred to a hospital morgue.
Road accidents are common in Egypt due to poor road maintenance and loosely implemented traffic laws, with around 12,000 fatalities every year, according to a report by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
