Egypt’s Foreign Minister Nabil El-Arabi said today that Egypt supports the right of the Palestinian people to peaceful resistance.
El-Arabi added that the Israeli repression of peaceful protests to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the Nakba shows that Israelis do not understand the sweeping changes in the Middle East that will also affect Palestine.
The foreign minister also placed the blame for the deterioration of the Palestinian crisis on Israel and asked them to respect human rights, which stipulate the right to protest peacefully and warned them to avoid using violence.
Menha Bakhom, the official spokesperson of the Egyptian foreign ministry said that El-Arabi believes that the peaceful protests that Palestinians orchestrated across Israel today to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of Nakba is a message to the world to find a swift solution to end the occupation of Palestinian lands.
