The wife of ousted president Hosni Mubarak, Suzanne, enabled the Illicit Profiteering Committee to liquidate one of her assets and seize two of her bank accounts in an attempt to avoid being sentenced to jail, according to MENA.
Suzanne was supposed to be transported to prison after receiving a 15-day detention order on charges of abusing her political power to accrue illegal profits.
Instead, she was admitted to Sharm El-Sheikh Hospital, where her husband is currently detained. Mrs Mubarak allegedly suffered heart problems and a nervous breakdown.
It was reported that she has officially given authority over a villa she owns in Masr Al-Gedida (Heliopolis, Cairo) as well as two accounts in the Ahly National Bank and Société Générale.
