Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will give a speech on Sunday at 7pm local time (5pm GMT), a source close to the presidency told Al-Ahram Arabic news website.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said El-Sisi would discuss “Egypt’s current international politics.”

The speech comes less than a week after Egypt launched airstrikes on Islamic State (IS) group targets in Libya’s Derna in cooperation with the Libyan army.

The attack was a retribution to a video, posted last Sunday, of IS militants beheading 20 Coptic Egyptian allegedly on a Tripoli beach.

Since then, Egypt has started evacuating its citizens, around 800,000 to 900, 000, from the Libyan territories.

Egypt has been urging for an international coalition to fight IS group militants in Libya, but most world powers, including the US and UK, have ruled out military intervention and called for a political solution.
