Cairo’s Criminal Court has released Egyptian businessman Ibrahim Kamel on bail today.
The bail was set at LE200 thousand. Kamel is accused of orchestrating the “Battle of the Camel” on 2 February when thugs on camel and horseback entered Tahrir Square in an attempt to intimidate and forcefully disperse the protesters.
The court also ordered the release of Mohamed El Ghamarawy, former secretary of the National Democratic Party’s Cairo secretariat, who has been accused of the same crime.
