Two people have died in a fire caused by Molotov cocktails thrown by unknown assailants at Nahiya Youth Centre in Kerdasa village, Giza, Al-Ahram Arabic website has reported.
Security forces went to the youth centre following reports of an explosion heard in the area. The two dead were found at the site.
The village of Kerdasa witnessed several deadly clashes between pro-Mohamed Morsi supporters and security forces, as well several attacks against security forces.
On Wednesday, a criminal court referred 22 Morsi supporters to Egypt's grand mufti in a step to confirm death sentences passed against them on charges of murdering a policeman, the attempted murder of others, rioting, sabotage of public properties, using force against security forces and illegal possession of weapons, stemming from events following the ouster of Morsi in September 2013.
Earlier in February, the same court sentenced 183 Morsi supporters to death for storming Kerdasa Police Station in the aftermath of the dispersal of pro-Morsi sit-ins in August 2013 — an attack that killed 11 policemen.
