A gradual rise in the temperature in Egypt is expected during the weekend, Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) spokesman Wahid Seoudi told Ahram Online.

Seoudi said temperate weather will prevail during daylight hours in the next few days after a four-day colder spell.

"During the weekend, the north part of the country will see some clouds developing limiting visibility ranges on the northern coast and in the Suez Canal," said Seoudi.

This might lead to some turbulence in Red Sea maritime transport, however waves on the Mediterranean will remain calm, Seoudi continued.

Cairo's temperature is expected to reach a high of 25 degrees Celsius and drop to a low of 14.

The Mediterranean city of Alexandria expects a high of 22 and a low of 15 degrees Celsius.

The popular Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh should see a high of 27 and a low of 17.
