Prosecutors have ordered the arrest of the head of camera surveillance at Kafr El-Sheikh stadium on Thursday following a bomb attack that killed two military cadets and injured six others on Wednesday.

The official will be detained for four days pending investigations after the prosecution found security cameras at the stadium had been disabled 24 hours before the attack.

The bomb exploded on Wednesday as cadets waited at the stadium for a bus to transport them to Cairo.

Head of Kafr El-Sheikh prosecution, Ahmed Ashour, ordered all tapes from the remaining functional cameras to be reviewed for criminal evidence.

Meanwhile, the prosecution awaits forensic reports into the cause of the explosion.

Prosecution sources told Al-Ahram Arabic news website that the case is expected to be referred to the military prosecution.

Hundreds of Kafr El-Sheikh residents were outraged by the attack and staged a protest on Wednesday afternoon to demand the government avenge the killings.
