A drop in temperature is expected in the coming few days, a statement by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said Wednesday.

The statement also noted that sand and dust winds are expected across the country in the coming 24 hours, hampering visibility levels and driving on highways.

This week witnessed unstable spring weather, swinging between brief heat waves followed by cold spells, interspersed with rain and high winds.

Egypt's main city — Cairo — is expecting Thursday a high of 23 degrees Celsius and a low of 12. Alexandria expects a high of 20 degrees Celsius and a low of 14.

Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh will see a high of 31 degrees Celsius and a low of 22.
