A heat wave is expected to hit Egypt this week, with an increase in temperature of 10-12 degrees Celsius, according to Metrological Authority spokesman Wahid Seoudi.
Temperatures in Cairo are expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius on Sunday and further increase by the end of the week, according to forecast estimations.
Egypt's southern governorates are to be most affected by the heat wave, with Luxor and Aswan reaching 42 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures are expected to cool down from Friday, according to initial weather forecasts.
