Gunmen shoot at police vehicle in Giza

Anti-government Islamist militants have been staged numerous attacks against police and army personnel since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013

Unknown assailants opened fire at a police vehicle in Awseem suburb in Giza early Thursday, Al-Ahram Arabic news website said.

No casualties were reported. However, a lorry at the site of the incident was damaged.

Police are conducting investigations to locate those involved.

Anti-government Islamist militants have been staging attacks against police and army personnel leaving hundreds dead since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.

Earlier in May, six masked gunmen shot dead a policeman in his village of Bani Magdoul in Kerdasa, Giza.
