At least 13 Central Security Forces conscripts and three civilians were killed late Friday in Egypt's Beni Seuf governorate when a police vehicle slipped into a river canal after colliding with a truck.
Four other conscripts were injured and transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.
In March, an Orascom company bus slipped into Mariotiya river canal in Giza leaving 12 dead and 15 others injured.
According to figures by Egypt's Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS), in 2014 a total of 14,403 road accidents in the country led to the death of 6,226 people and the injury of 24,154 others.
