Hot weather expected around Egypt for start of school exam period

Egyptian Meteorological Authority advises school pupils taking final exams to drink lots of water

Egypt will see a rise in temperatures on Sunday that will last for two days, according to a statement by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority.

"The rise in temperature is expected to peak on Monday; it is also expected that it will fall on Tuesday," the statement read.

The statement called on high school students taking their final year thanaweya amma exams to try to keep cool and hydrated by drinking sufficient water and cool drinks.

The exam period starts on Saturday and lasts until the end of June. Scores are a critical factor in determining college entrance.

Cairo is expected to see on a high of 32 degrees Celsius on Saturday and a low of 21. The north coast city of Alexandria is expected to see a high of 27 degrees and a low of 19. Sharm El-Sheikh resort in Sinai is expected to see a high of 36 degrees and a low of 25.
