Egypt's court of cassation rejected on Saturday an appeal by the general prosecution against an earlier acquittal verdict for Mubarak's former housing minister Ahmed El-Maghrabi who was accused of squandering public funds and profiteering.
In that case, El-Maghrabi was also acquitted of illegally allowing an investor to acquire a piece of land in New Cairo.
El-Maghrabi was one of many ministers who served under Hosni Mubarak and were accused of corruption following the ouster of the longstanding president in 2011.
