Cairo criminal court has ruled in favour of the appeal of former ruling National Democratic Party organisational secretary Maged El-Sherbeeny, accused of involvement in the so called "Battle of the Camel" when Tahrir Square demonstrators were attacked by hired thugs, leaving many injured and several dead.
El-Sherbeeeny has been accordingly released on bail of LE50,000. The head of the committee supervising the case, Mahmoud El-Sabrout, had previsouly ordered the detention of El-Sherbeeny for 15 days pending investigations on charges of killing demonstrators.
