Four people died and 12 were injured in a microbus crash in Egypt's Beni Suef governorate on Saturday, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
A microbus collided with a truck near the town of Ezbet Aly Bahloul in the Upper Egyptian governorate.
The injured were transported to hospital.
Initial investigations revealed that reckless driving and speeding were the cause of the accident, Al-Ahram reported.
Thousands of lives are lost on Egypt's roads every year due to poor driving, badly maintained roads, and loose traffic regulations.
According to figures by Egypt's Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS), a total of 14,403 road accidents in 2014 led to the death of 6,226 people and the injury of 24,154 others.
