Employees of the information centres of the Ministry of Local Development protest pay policy outside the ministry building

Hundreds of employees working at the information centres of local development bureaus started a sit-in outside the Ministry of Local Development demanding the resignation of Mohsen El Noamany, the minister.

The protest is in response to the contradictions in his statements regarding issuing contracts for them, and the protesters say there is a deficit of LE7.4 million in their salaries.

Chants and banners against Naomani were raised, and workers from other institutions joined the strike.

A delegation of the workers has decided to meet with members of the Supreme Council of Armed Forces to discuss ways to solve the problem, while the Centre for Trade Unions and Workers’ Services (CTUWS) in Helwan announced its support for the protesters.
