The 6th of April Movement’s formal news website published today what it considers to be an exclusive report on the hospital where ousted president Hosni Mubarak is said to be spending his detention period. The report, which depends mainly on seven photographs taken from different places around and in Assalam Hospital in Sharm El-Sheikh, questions whether Mubarak is really there.
"We were not able to confirm or deny the rumours that say that Mubarak has been transferred to a military base near Sharm El-Sheikh or to another hospital," states the report which published photos showing the absence of any security forces surrounding the hospital.
The photos that are said to have been taken on Sunday afternoon came with captions describing how easy it was for the 6th of April reporters to access the hospital. "There are no guards or electronic gates on the entrance. Not even a receptionist to ask you where you were going," states a comment on the third picture.
However, it seems that the reporters were denied access to the floor where Mubarak's room is located by security personnel.
The report concludes by demanding irrefutable proof that the ousted president is in fact present at the hospital he is allegedly being detained in and that he really was questioned there. The group also demands that both the investigations into the 83-year-old ex-president and his trial be made public.
The 6th of April Movement announced that it will participate in the million man march that is to take place on 8 July. Protesters plan to call for the fulfilment of the revolution’s demands, among which will be the trial of the ousted president and his transfer to a prison in Cairo.
Egypt’s interim government claims that Mubarak cannot but remain in Sharm El-Shiekh due to health problems which would put his life at risk if transferred to a Tora Prison hospital in Cairo.
