Turkish Airlines cancelled its Thursday flight from Cairo International Airport to Istanbul due to a technical failure.
The national carrier managed to find space for 23 out of the 181 stranded passengers on a different flight.
The airline has arranged for the remaining 158 travellers to be given rooms in a hotel near the airport as it arranges a replacement plane to fly them to Istanbul.
