Muslim Brothers Supreme Guide endorses SCAF

MENA, Friday 22 Jul 2011

Stating that Egyptian state institutions are currently liberated from the control of the former regime, Mohamed Badie, the Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, praised the Supreme Council of Armed Forces for backing the people and protecting the revolution.

The statement was made while Badie attended a play about Muslim-Copt relations at the Damietta Cultural Palace, We Dare Dream by the Nugoum troupe, which also deals with fighting terrorism and corruption.

The Muslim Brotherhood operated despite being officially banned under Mubarak and could only form political parties, including the Justice and Freedom Party, after the revolution.
