An improvised bomb killed on Thursday a policeman and injured two others in Egypt’s North Sinai.
Assailants planted the improvised bomb on the side of a road west of Al-Arish City. The bomb exploded as the police vehicle passed through.
The injured, a conscript and a low-ranking policeman, were transferred to Al-Arish Hospital.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Egypt has been attempting to quell an Islamist insurgency which spiked after the 2013 ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi.
Islamist militants, based in parts of North Sinai governorate, have killed hundreds of members from Egypt's security forces.
Authorities have also reported that hundreds of militants have been killed in army campaigns in the governorate.
Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, who pledged allegiance to the ISIS group in November 2014, has claimed responsibility for the deadly attacks in North Sinai.
