An electricity pylon caught on fire at Cairo International Airport and was put out minutes later by Egypt's civil protection authority late on Saturday.
The fire could be seen at the runway in front of the V.I.P lounge.
Initial inspections showed the fire was caused due to an electrical short-circuit.
There is no evidence that criminality played a role in the cause of the fire.
Last week, electrical power was cut for a couple of hours from the main air traffic control tower at the airport, during which an auxiliary tower was used.
No considerable delay was caused by last week's power cut.
