Former premier Ebeid to remain in detention for 15 more days

Former prime minister Atef Ebeid under investigation for selling land at wasting public assets

The detention of former prime minister Atef Ebeid has been extended for another 15 days, ‎pending questioning.‎

Ebeid is accused of being involved in the selling of a piece of government land to ‎fugitive businessman Hussein Salem for LE8 million ($1,355,000), way below its estimated value of LE208 million ($35,500,000).‎

The detention of former agriculture minister Youssef Wali, on the same charge, was yesterday extended for a further 15 days.
