Two were killed and three injured this morning following a gunfire exchange in Kafr Shokr, Qaliobeya delta governorate between a group of thugs and runaway inmates. The police arrived later but ‎‎couldn’t arrest any of them, according to security sources. ‎

The clash saw the lawbreakers block the Banha-Mansoura highway by ‎setting tires on ‎fire in the middle of the road.‎

It turned out that the assailants were fighting each other after a group of them wanted ‎to ‎force their dominance in El-Monshaa El-Sagira village, which angered the other ‎group.‎

Apart from using firearms, both sides threw molotov cocktails at each other, much to ‎the horror of the village’s residents. ‎

By the time the police arrived, the thugs had already escaped. Afterwards, central ‎‎security personnel secured the entrances and exits of the village in an attempt to avoid ‎‎escalations. ‎
