Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi arrived on Friday in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, at the beginning of an Aisan tour that will include Japan and South Korea, MENA agency reported.
El-Sisi is expected to meet President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime Minister Karim Massimov to discuss means to counter terrorism and extremism and other issues.
Ties between the two countries go back to 1991, when Egypt was among the first countries to recognize Kazakhstan’s independence following the collapse of the former Soviet Union.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in April 1992.
