The military prosecution has ordered the release of lawyer Maha Abou Bakr, who was accused of insulting the military police and Egyptian army.

A video of a young woman cursing the army and military police had been submitted to military prosecution, saying it was Abou Bakr who appeared on the footage which was circulated on the internet.

The prosecution, however, released her after concluding that she was not the woman in the video.

A couple of days ago, military prosecution freed activist Asmaa Mahfouz on bail, pending further investigation into charges of inciting against the military.
