A number of journalists have filed a complaint to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces accusing 18 Egyptian organisations of violating protocol by receiving funding from abroad

A number of journalists have filed a complaint with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) against 18 Egyptian organizations that are dealing with foreign entities.

According the complaint, the 18 organisations receive funds from abroad without considering the infringements they commit in the process.

The likes of America's Freedom House and the Arab Democratic Qatari Organisation are understood to be funding political groups in Egypt.

The journalists, including Moataz El-Hadidi of El-Gomhoria, Akher Saa's Mahmoud Basiouni and Mohamed Rabie of October Magazine, said the Egyptian groups had violated international relations regulations that control funding programs and foreign grants.
