Shubra Criminal Court witnesses the fourth session of case against policemen accused of killing demonstrators on 28 January

Shubra’s Criminal Court will resume on Saturday hearing the case against four policemen accused of killing demonstrators during Egypt’s January 25 Revolution.

 

It will be the fourth session in the case against the accused Farouq Lashin, former head of Qaliubiya Security; Gamal Hosny, deputy director of security for South Qaliubiya; Ahmed Momtaz, deputy director of Shubra Security; and Samir Zaky head of Security Assistance.

 

The four policemen are accused of resorting to violence and plotting to kill demonstrators while trying to prevent the Shubra protests from reaching Cairo. The clashes between police and demonstrators in an area between Shubra and Cairo on 28 January led to the death of 20 protesters, another 40 were injured.
