Mubarak's trial protesters released on bail

Protesters accused of assaulting civil servants and damaging public property to be referred to trial next Thursday

 

Protesters detained yesterday during clashes between Mubarak supporters, martyrs’ families and their supporters and security forces were released on bail today.

Twenty two protesters from both the pro-Mubarak and anti-Mubarak sides were released after paying LE200 bail and will be referred to trial next Thursday. The general prosecution accused the protesters of assaulting civil servants and damaging public property.

The general prosecution listened to15 injured police officers and soldiers along with a number of citizens as eye witnesses on how the clashes started and how protesters allegedly trespassed beyond security barriers and attacked security forces.
