The head of the military prosecution, General Adel Morsi, has called on the media not to comment on military court verdicts, or to publish erroneous reports on them.

Morsi said that those with legal challenges should direct them to the military tribunals, filing complaints that would be looked into swiftly.

Morsi’s statement read: “Some media personnel have dedicated their efforts to commenting on some of the cases handled by military courts. They claim that loopholes in these cases made the verdicts dubious, and they also pointed to the use of force against defendants. We urge everyone to exhaust the legal avenues [available] to appeal against verdicts, instead of spreading rumours.”
