Session five of Mubarak's trial features a new batch of witnesses

Outside the court the former president's supporters are noticeably absent

The fifth session of the Mubarak trial started about 10am today, Thursday, in Cairo at the police academy.

In this session Judge Ahmed Rafeat is resumes the hearings of the 8th and 9th prosecution witnesses: Essam Shawky and Hussein Abdel Hady. Currently according to sources inside the court Police Colonel Essam Hosni is testifying. 

Former president Hosni Mubarak arrived at the Police academy and entered the court room on a medical stretcher, wearing a grey tracksuit.

Mubarak’s supporters are noticeably absent outside the court for the second day in a row.
