A military court has sentenced a teacher to one year in prison with hard labour for ‎impersonating a military officer

A military court has sentenced a teacher to one year in prison with labour for ‎impersonating a military officer for three months in Dakahlia, North East of Cairo.‎

Mohamed Wagdi Zidan, 33, was arrested early this month after pretending to be a ‎border guard officer. ‎

Wearing military uniform, Zidan paid the governorate office many visits over the past three ‎months. ‎

Military officers in Dakahlia eventually had doubts over his identity before they instigated his ‎arrest. ‎

Zidan will serve the year-long sentence in a civil prison.
