The court at Giza postponed a session scheduled for today ,to look into a case filed by foreign minister, Ahmed Abul El-Gheit against media figure Hamdi Qandil, accusing him of libel.
The session was postponed until tomorrow in response to a request by Qandil's defence lawyers who want Abul-Gheit summoned to court.
Abul-Gheit is suing Qandil, who published a column in Al-Shorouk newspaper on the 3rd of May, which the foreign minister deemed insulting.
Abu El-Gheit’s defence is requesting that Qandeel and Ibrahim El-Moalem, Shorouk’s chairman of the board, pay a compensation of LE20 million ($3,450,357.85).
