Brotherhood party says UN recognition of Palestine would not solve conflict

US support for Israeli occupation puts it in a confrontational position with a changing Arab world, says Freedom and Justice Party statement

The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, has released a statement saying it believes the move by the Palestinian Authority to seek UN recognition of an independent state will not solve the Arab-Israeli conflict, or even the begin to solve it.

The FJP also stressed that the US Administration is still biased in favour of the Israel as it thinks it will protect its interests in the Arab World. "The US continues to make the same mistakes with its unconditional support of Israel's occupation, and its turning of a blind eye to its offensives against Arabs and Muslims. It has failed to build a relationship built on mutual respect with the Muslim world," the statement said.

Moreover, the FJP statement warned that the US is putting itself in a confrontational position with the Arabs, who have are changing now and overthrowing authoritarian regimes.
