The Emergency State Security Court in Qena has decided to hold off sentencing on the sectarian violence case of Naga Hammadi until January

The Emergency State Security Court in Qena has decided postpone sentencing in case of sectarian violence in Naga Hammadi until 16 January 2011. The case involves the killing of six Copts and a Muslim guard on the Orthodox Coptic Christmas Eve, 6 January.

The shooting took place following a Christmas mass and involved several men driving two cars. They fired from the car without stopping. The incident caused outrage among people living in Upper Egypt and across the country.
