Minister of Justice Mohamed Abdel Aziz El-Guindy says he has commissioned two Appeal Court judges to investigate allegations that Egyptian organisations have been receiving foreign financial support.
El-Guindy told Ahram Online’s Arabic version that, “Some of these organisations are not well-known, while others are American.
“I listed all the organisations that are under suspicion and I sent the list to two judges at the Appeal Court for investigation.”
Some political movements, including the April 6 Youth Movement, are accused of receiving financial support from countries that aim to harm Egypt.
The April 6 Youth Movement has categorically denied the allegation on several occasions.
El-Guindy claimed that these organisations face accusations of betraying their country by deliberately increasing strife, with the help of other countries.
