A Karama Party political office member, Amin Eskandar, says he is not optimistic over the possibility of cooperation with the parties of the Democratic Alliance for Egypt during next month’s parliamentary elections.
El-Karama’s political office held a lengthy meeting on Friday to discuss and name their terms to remain part of the alliance during the elections.
According to Eskandar, El-Karama is yet to reach an agreement over the order of its candidates on the joint lists. He believes that it is unlikely that they can work out an accord.
Recently, Wafd and the Nasserist Parties decided to withdraw from the alliance. The former party opted to have separate electoral lists after a disagreement with the Freedom and Justice party (the Muslim Brotherhood’s political wing and current member of the alliance) over the distribution and number of candidates between the two sides.
