Fog has disturbed traffic Sunday morning on Cairo entry roads including the Shubra, 6th of October and 15th of May bridges, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.

The traffic authority has increased the number of traffic police on roads affected by the fog to facilitate safe commutes.

Egypt has been experiencing a wave of cold weather over the past week, with moderate rains in some parts of the country and fog in the early mornings.

Two of Egypt's main north coast ports, Alexandria and Dakheila, closed for three days last week, due to wind speeds exceeding 25 knots per hour that caused high waves in the Mediterranean.

In October, severe rain led to floods that left 15 dead and 47 injured nationwide.
