Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi met with the US Chief of Central ‎Command, General James Mattis, on Tuesday in Egypt

Egypt's Field Marshal and de-facto president, Hussein Tantawi, met with the US Chief of Central ‎Command, General James Mattis, and an American delegation on Tuesday  in Egypt.‎

Each went through the latest updates on both regional and global levels, as well ‎as the mutual interests between the US and Egypt. ‎

Egypt’s current transitional period to democracy was also brought into discussion, along with ‎the imminent parliamentary elections.‎

The meeting was attended by several members of the Supreme Council of the Armed ‎Forces (SCAF) and the US ambassador to Egypt, Anne Patterson.
