Egypt's heatwave to continue on Wednesday with highs of 38 C in Cairo

Egypt will see more very hot weather on Wednesday, continuing the heatwave of the past few days, according to state-run news agency MENA.

Experts with the meteorological authority told MENA that Cairo will will see highs of 38 degrees Celsius in the daytime and lows of 25 at night.

The Red Sea resort city of Hurghada will see a high of 36 and low of 22, while Sharm El-Sheikh in South Sinai will see a high of 37 and low of 24.

The coastal city of Alexandria, meanwhile, will experience cooler highs of 27 and lows of 21.

The recent heatwave in Cairo saw tempteratures of 39 degrees on Monday.

The Mediterranean Sea will experience light-to-moderate waves, reaching 1.5 metres in height, while the Red Sea will experience light waves of between 0.5 and 1 metres.
