Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi agreed with Bahrain’s King Hamad Al-Khalifa on non-interference policies in relation to the internal affairs of the Arab countries, the Egyptian presidency announced on Thursday.

In a statement issued following the talks between the two men in Cairo on Thursday, the pair stressed the importance of forging mutual respect in the relations between Arab countries.

King Hamad arrived in Cairo on Thursday afternoon for a short visit to discuss developments in the Qatar situation.

The king arrived from Saudi Arabia where he had met with King Salman bin Abdel-Aziz.

Earlier this week, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt cut their diplomatic relations with Qatar.

Aside from the latest developments in the Gulf region, the two leaders also discussed bilateral relations, according to the Egyptian presidency.
