Alexandria's Port authority closed the ports of Boughazi and Dekheila for a second consecutive day on Sunday due to the bad weather conditions, state news agency MENA reported.
Earlier on Sunday, Alexandria and other locations along the Mediterranean coast experienced winter rainfall.
Officials at the authority told MENA that the decision to close the two ports was taken for safety reasons due to rise in waves and high wind speed.
Rain in Alexandria is expected to continue for five days, according to meteorologists.
Meanwhile, the Port of Sharm El-Sheikh on the Red Sea was closed on Sunday also due to bad weather conditions.
