El-Ganzouri spends first day in Cabinet on police plan to restore order in Egypt

Egypt's newly appointed prime minister started his first day discussing a police plan to restore order and stability following recent upheaval

Prime Minister Kamel El-Ganzouri started his first day as Egypt's premier with a visit to the Police Academy headquarters where he held a meeting with Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim and other interior ministry officials.

El-Ganzouri discussed with Ibrahim an immediate plan to restore security, order and stability to the Egyptian street. The plan includes raising the living standards of police officers and agents.

The prime minister is still holding meetings at the ministry of planning in Nasr City rather than the Cabinet building on the Kasr Al-Aini Street, given the ongoing sit-in at the building by revolutionary groups and parties aiming to prevent E-Ganzouri from taking up power.

Over 20 movements have transferred their sit-in from Tahrir Square to the Cabinet headquarters to object to the appointment of El-Ganzouri and his Cabinet, demanding instead a national salvation government representing all political forces in the country.
