Tens of workers at a flour mill in Aswan governorate’s city of Edfu started a strike on Saturday blocking all doors and preventing employees from accessing their offices. The workers who initiated the protest demanded better wages in addition to their release of delayed bonuses and incentives.
The workers declared that their strike and sit-in will continue until their demands are met adding that their company has generated a lot of profit lately but management refuses to spread the gains across board.
A company representative attempted to negotiate with the workers to end their strike but failed.
