Court adjourns trial of two security chiefs for protester deaths in Damietta

Case against two security personnel accused of killing protesters in Damietta adjourned

Damietta’s criminal court has adjourned the case against those accused of killing demonstrators on the January 28 Day of Rage. The case was postponed to 11 March 2012.

Those accused include former head of Damietta Security Esmat Riad and Mahmoud El-Saied, head of Gamasa Central Security. Two protesters were killed while 197 were injured in Damietta during the uprising in the early days of the January 25 Revolution.
