Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi wished Egypt's Coptic Orthodox community, as well the rest of the Egyptian people, a happy Easter in a short message on Sunday on his official social media accounts.

"I call on all of us to remember the teachings of Jesus Christ that lead humanity to the ways of love and peace," El-Sisi said, adding, "Peace upon Egypt and its people."

Millions of Egyptian Christians celebrated Easter on Saturday.

Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Christians make up about 10 percent of Egypt's population of 90 million people, and constitute the Middle East's largest Christian community.
