Egypt's foreign ministry has condemned in a statement Wednesday Belgium's Liege shooting on Tuesday, offering deep condolences to the families of victims and hopes of speedy recovery for the injured.
"Egypt stands by Belgium's friendly government and people in this hardship," the statement said.
Two policewomen and a male bystander were killed in the eastern Belgian city of Liege Tuesday in an attack that amounts to terrorist murder, prosecutors spokesman Eric Van Der Sypt said.
Several police officers were wounded in the shooting.
The statement affirmed Egypt's rejection to all forms of terrorism regardless of any reasons or justifications, stressing the importance of combining international efforts to combat this phenomenon.
The Belgium authorities ahs arrested one suspect in the case.
