Egyptian defence minister Lietuenant General Mohamed Zaki met on Saturday in Cairo with his Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman, where the duo discussed military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, the Egyptian army spokesman said.
Zaki expressed his appreciation for Sitharaman’s visit, praising the level of coordination in military and security consultations between the two countries, spokesman Tamer El-Refaie in an official statement.
He expressed his hope that the upcoming period "witnesses more cooperation and joint integration, as well as new aspects of cooperation."
The Indian defence minister expressed her full appreciation to the government and people of Egypt, praising Egypt’s role in "consolidating the pillars of security in the Middle East".
She also stressed on her country’s keenness on boosting relations with Egypt, especially in the military sphere, during the meeting attended by leaders of the armed forces and the Indian envoy in Cairo.
