Candidate name appeared on candidate list as well as individual seats list

The Mansoura Administrative Court has nullified the electoral results for Mansoura’s first constituency.

The decision came after candidate Mohamed Rizq Howeidy found his name in both the candidate lists and the individual seats section. Howeidy, a member of the liberal Free Egyptians Party who was running as part of the Egyptian Bloc, said that the mix-up happened after he had requested from the Supreme Electoral Committee to have his name removed from the Bloc’s list to the individual seat section. His name however ended up being on both lists.

Howeidy then filed 34 complaints which led the court to make the ruling that both lists would be discarded.
